My Past Obsession

A Past Obsession

I had a passion for fast cars, I went though a box of old pictures of my moms and found these pics. Too bad they are in such bad condition. I have better ones but they are at my home in Utah. I though I would put these up for fun. The first car, my 70 Camaro as you can see is not finished in this picture. I was never happy with this car because it was not a 67 Camaro. I wanted a 67. And nothing else really mattered.I had some fun with this one. The only problem with this one was when I got in a street race with this car with no sway bar. Yikes, I almost lost it around a turn, the other car, actually it was a truck lost the motor. Dropped it right on the ground in the middle of the road.

"Ragin Cajun"

I finely found my love on the corner of a vacant parking lot. A 67 Camaro. One problem, it had no motor, no tires, no engine, rusted everywhere, broken windows. I had to have it. So I bought it and off to the garage it went. After spending every available penny I had on it buying a new motor, 350, and having it totally modified, RV cam, tunnel ram, polished ports , holly carb, everything chrome, detailed firewall, braided hoses, blower, months of body work, I did most of the body work myself, and if I might say, did a great job.

Had it painted 7 shades of metallic blue, low profile tires, \\$1000 rims, corvette seats and steering wheel, best sound equipment, scanner, tacks, I had a slap stick put in, I can go on and on. I named it "Beyond Bitch".

On my birthday the mechanic happened to dial it in perfect and on a industry road while employees were having lunch out in the parking lot of the buildings I put her in gear and actually lifted the front tires off the road at least a foot. I could hear the cheers of employees who saw "beyond bitch" do her thing.

One day after shopping I got in my car in the shopping mall parking lot and when I started it up the hood blew at least 20 feet in the air according to witnesses and caught on fire. AHHHHHHH, I jumped out and fell on the ground crying like a baby. Good thing the fire department was next door. I had her towed home and fixed her back up after re doing the wiring, pain in the ass as many know. And lots of other replacements. This camaro use to shake the ground, and when I pulled into the car port it shook the house.

I had one thing left to do, since having her built from the ground up and spend all my money her, I had to have a special bumper sticker made for the back bumper which read "THIS IS NOT MY BOYFRIENDS CAR". Because everywhere I went people assumed it couldn't be a girls car.

Oh, yeah one last thing, I got to know the Rowland Hts cops pretty well, every time it was called in it was referred to as a "funny car". It was fast. But not as fast as a helicopter. Sorry about the condition of these pictures. They just don't show the beauty of this past obsession, which I no longer have anymore.

This is a messed up picture, and a messed up mechanic too. Doesn't it look

like he is thinking " I wish she would stop trying to tell me how to build this car."

Photo of my beach cruiser

I had all of these vehicles at the same time. This was my beach

cruiser, notice I had to have the blue colors too. This was a 75 Blazer, I think, it may have been a 72

My worst car of that same period

used only when necessary, like......low on gas money. This is a poor

picture, I think paint got on it. This is the mechanic checking out a scratch.

yep, a 260 Z , yuck.

Believe it or not, second to my 67 Camaro was my

1972 250 sidestep Ford Pick up truck 4X4 of course.

I'll find a pic of that one later.

thanks for letting me share
